What is Global Access Direct Service?
Telegroup's new Global Access Direct service is the first special access
calling service that offers U.S. and Canada customers the same savings
from a registered phone and on the road. With its PIN feature, customers
can use the service from the office, home, cell phone, or even while traveling

How GAD Service Works
-
The customer dials a toll-free number in the U.S. or Canada--1-800-393-1000
to connect to Telegroup's U.S. switch.
-
If the customer's CLI/ANI is delivered and recognized by the switch, he/she
hears a bong tone. The prompt then says, "Please enter your authorization
code." (If the customer enters an incorrect code, the switch will again
prompt for an authorization code.) After entering the 10-digit code, the
customer is prompted to dial the number he/she wants to call.
-
The customer enters the destination number. He will then hear, "Thank-you
for using Telegroup." The call is completed via Telegroup's network.

More GAD Details
-
The GAD US rate for calls U.S. to U.S. is 15¢/min. flat rate.
-
Each GAD account will have a monthly limit. If no limit is specified on
the order, Telegroup will default to a $250 limit, with the maximum being
$5000. When the customer reaches the limit, the line will no longer work
until reset. Usage limits are reset on the 20th of each month when the
customer makes his/her first call. You can set the approximate usage limit
in Telegroup Order Page upon sign up.
-
Billing increments are 30/06. Charges begin with the dial tone after dialing
the toll free access number.
-
Each GAD line may have as many PINs as the customer would like.
-
GAD can be provisioned for CLI only or PIN only. For PIN only orders, where
the service is a stand alone service, the customer payment method must
be credit card.
-
Two to six digit accounting (unverified) codes are available on GAD.
-
If a call is in progress, another call CANNOT be initiated with the same
PIN. This will cause the service to lock.
-
For customers with a monthly usage under $10 (US), the invoice amount will
be rolled over to the following month. Low usage invoices will be rolled
over for three months, with the customer being billed at the end of the
third month even if the usage total is under $10. A$5 service charge will
be added to this type of invoice.
-
If GAD is used from a U.S. pay phone, a 30¢ FCC mandated surcharge
will be added to the customer's invoice. The charge will appear as a separate
line item on the invoice.
-
If a customer uses a GAD PIN from a non-equal access area, the originating
number will not appear on his invoice. It will appear as Eastern Standard
Time, which corresponds with the Telegroup New Jersey switch.
-
If a customer deactivates the caller identification feature on his telephone,
his CLI will not be delivered to the switch. This will result in a prompt
for a PIN authorization code when accessing GAD.
-
GAD service in the U.S. and Canada is a NO-PIC add-on service in which
customers are not required to changes their current long distance carriers.
And, like other Global Access services, does not require any change in
customer's present long distance service.
GAD Order Entry and Provisioning
Provisioning time for GAD is approximately two full business day, 48 hours.
