What Is Global Access Direct Service

Global Access Direct (GAD) service is the implementation of our new generation of switching technology. GAD is a direct dial-through service. This means the customer does not have to hang up when placing a long-distance call, giving transparent access to our service at the best rates.

Service Requirements

For customer convenience, this seamless dialing is available when placing a call from a registered phone. Customer's must have one of the following conditions:

 Note: GAD Germany savings do not extend to mobile phones (phones that start with 4917). For the best savings, we recommend GACB service for mobile phone users. (New)

Customer Instructions

  1. From your registered phone, dial the access number nearest you. Then listen for the bong tone.
    From an unregistered phone, dial the access number nearest you, then dial your PIN followed by the # key. Then listen for the bong tone.
  2. After the tone, dial the destination country code + the number you want to call.
  3. Press the # key.
  4. To make additional calls, press ## (pound key twice).
  5. To re-enter a misdialed number, press the * key.

More GAD - Germany Details

  1. Billing is in 30/06 increments.
  2. GAD permits calls within Germany.
  3. Customers can call any of the seven GAD access points shown above, but their access call will be charged as a regular call by German Telekom. Therefore, to maximize savings, customers should use this service only in the vicinity of these cities.
  4. There are 48 regions surrounding these seven cities which also belong to the low-price City Region of Deutsche Telekom. Customers in these areas only need to add between one and a half and four cents US/min to the Telegroup rates to calculate their final savings.
  5. For customers outside the City Region, but within a 50 km radius, the access charge will be 3¢ - 14¢ US/min, depending on the time of day.
