What Is Global Access Direct Service

Global Access Direct (GAD) service is the implementation of our new generation of switching technology. GAD is a direct dial-through service for customers. This means the customer does not have to hang up when placing a long-distance call, giving the customer transparent access to our service, at the best rates.

How GAD Hong Kong Works

  1. Instant, direct access - no time delay waiting for the callback.
  2. No monthly minimum fee.
  3. No limit to the number of phones the customer can use with the service.
  4. PIN allows customer to use the service from any phone in Hong Kong, while enjoying the same rates. Other advanced features will be introduced early in 1998.

Customer Instructions

  1. From a touch-tone phone, dial the Hong Kong access number: 3006-3388.
  2. After the prompt, "Please enter your account code," enter your PIN. (Prompts are available in English, Cantonese and Mandarin). If the prompt is incorrect, it will say, "That is not a valid number."
  3. Dial the country code or area code and the destination number.
  4. Press #.
  5. To make additional calls, press *.
  6. The call is completed through Telegroup's international switching network within 10 seconds. If the call cannot be completed, the prompt will say, "Your call cannot be placed at the moment. Please try again later."

Details for Ordering the Service

  1. Each PIN code will have a monthly usage limit. If there is not a specified limit on the order, the default will be $250. The line must be reset after the limit is reached. Limits are automatically reset on the 21st of each month.
  2. Billing is in 30/06 increments.
  3. Touch-tone phone required.
  1. The account code feature is not available at this time.
  2. When a call is in progress, other calls cannot be initiated with the same customer PIN, but corporate accounts have multiple PIN #s assigned, which allows different PIN #s in the same account to use the service at the same time.
